Gerald Boyd joins Meeting Street Schools as Chief Schools Transformation Officer after over a decade of work in Texas, his home state.
Born and raised in Houston, he a first generation college graduate, earning a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from UT-Arlington.
A lifelong educator whose career started by joining Teach For America, Gerald has served as a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Executive Principal, Vice President of Schools, and Chief Academic Officer across several networks in Texas. At IDEA Public Schools, one of America’s largest and strongest networks serving students from low-income backgrounds, his campuses consistently earned “A” school ratings from the Texas Education Agency. He has worked with schools at all phases of development, including turnaround, start-up, and continuous improvement.
Gerald and his wife Quincy are raising two beautiful daughters, including a new Kindergartner!
