Jamie Downs is the new Principal of Meeting Street at Brentwood.
Jamie has been dedicated to the field of education for more than fifteen years. He has worked with students ranging in age from grades K-12 in a variety of roles. He’s been a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and Principal. Most recently, Jamie has served as a Principal with YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, TX. He is excited to bring his skills as an educational leader to Brentwood and to work with families as partners in education to ensure the success of each child.
Jamie is originally from Greenwood, SC and attended the University of South Carolina before moving to Houston to start his teaching career. He is proud to be returning home to South Carolina and looks forward to becoming part of the Brentwood community. Jamie intends to continue Brentwood legacy valuing high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students.
