#GIVINGSTORY: MSAS Welcomes New Addition and Playground to Campus

Story by cnmAdmin2030 / December 5, 2019

It has been a special year for Meeting Street Academy-Spartanburg. On Sunday, November 17, teachers, staff, and community members came together to celebrate the opening of their brand new wing and playground. The new addition will provide students with more space to learn and grow, while the playground will grant a safe place for students to play during and after school.

6th grade student Olivia Black who spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony said, “The playground is big and free for everyone. It’s a fun environment. Anyone can join in anytime and you can make friends here. You can be yourself.”

We would like to thank our donors and supporters who helped this dream come to life for our students. We cannot wait to share all the accomplishments that will be made in the new wing, and watch memories be created on the new playground to be treasured by our students for years to come.

Celebrate with us and check out the new wing and playground by watching the video below!

“Meeting Street Academy is my family. They taught me that I am valuable. I am an asset to the world…They asked me, ‘What is your dream?’ I had never been asked that before. The MSS community gives me the strength to pursue my dreams.”

Here at MSS, students are provided the opportunity to achieve success through the facilitation of well-educated teachers, resources, and a responsive classroom school environment.”

“MSA is a family. Once you’re in, you’re in. They said they would follow our kids from K-3 to college and they actually lived up to what they said they would do. Not only did MSA challenge my daughter academically but it also exposed her to new things that she probably wouldn’t have been exposed to at our previous neighborhood school. Our journey at MSA was exciting and rewarding. They actually walk the walk.”
