Launch Day boldly kicks off 2025-26 school year July 24, 2025 Meeting Street Schools

Educators from across Meeting Street Schools came together with energy and purpose for Launch Day, the official instructional kickoff of the 2025–26 school year.

Launch Day gives every teacher the opportunity to understand the academic vision, then it equips them with tools and resources to deliver more effective instruction.

During the keynote address, Beemok Education President Josh Bell shared meaningful gains achieved by schools in 2024-25 and challenged educators to commit excellence every day.

“We want our schools to be the best in South Carolina,” Bell said. “That’s an audacious, bold ambition. All of you are here because you believe it, too, but belief isn’t enough. We need to convert that belief into a sense of urgency this year.”

Chief Academic Officer Nisha Vasavada offered an overview of Meeting Street Schools’ instructional model and the changes that are being implemented. Her message was clear: Meeting Street Schools is working to redefine what’s possible for students across the country.

“You are a part of something unique,” she said. “We are making bets that are different than a lot of schools and districts in the country. We are going to disrupt and build something enduring for kids in our schools, in our state and in our nation.”

One of the highlights of the event was a speech by Meeting Street Elementary & Middle – Brentwood teacher Sydney Carroll, who shared how her mindset shifted last school year and the results she achieved because of it.

“I believe in Meeting Street Schools because we don’t lower the bar,” she said. “We believe in more for our students.”
