Leadership change at Meeting Street Academy – Spartanburg May 8, 2025 MSS Internal Stories

Dear Meeting Street Schools staff,

After 12 incredible years with our school, Principal Kyndran Hilton has shared that she will be leaving at the end of this school year to pursue another opportunity.

Kyndran is a Maverick through and through. Her leadership has been exceptional, guiding the school through multiple chapters of governance while achieving notable results. It was under Kyndran that the Academy was recognized in 2021 as a National Blue Ribbon School for being an exemplary, high-performing school.

We will miss the love, warmth and joy Kyndran infuses into the Academy every day, and we look forward to celebrating her many contributions.

I’m thrilled to share that Assistant Principal Siobhan Ragan will be our interim principal. Siobhan has more than a decade of experience at Meeting Street Schools, and she’s been Kyndran’s right-hand and chief collaborator.

Siobhan has an unwavering belief in the potential of every student and a strong commitment to partnering with families to help students thrive. I am confident that she will continue the Academy’s legacy of excellence and high expectations.

I want to acknowledge the fantastic work of both Kyndran in Spartanburg and Chad Weiden, principal of Burns, both of whom will be leaving at the end of this school year. We couldn’t be more grateful for the leadership and commitment of both principals, and we wish them the best.

With these leadership changes comes the opportunity for an exciting new chapter, and I know our team will embrace our new principals and continue striving to achieve our mission of “empowering children with the exceptional, life-changing education they deserve.”

Let’s finish the year strong together.

With gratitude,

Josh Bell
