Dear Meeting Street Schools team,
I’m thrilled to share a few exciting updates to our alumni program.
We are committed to supporting all Meeting Street Schools alumni as they navigate middle and high school as well as college. With nearly 600 alumni at 85 different schools, we realized we needed to step back and evaluate our overall strategy and programming.
Going forward, our goal is to focus resources and opportunities on the students who are eager to contribute, connect and grow. To make this happen, we will transition our programming from a campus-based model to a network-wide approach. This shift will allow us to provide more impactful alumni programming and support to those who want it most.
Some of the changes include:
- Providing one-on-one assistance to those who will request it and continuing to host gatherings and sharing helpful resources rather than striving to meet once per year with every alumni;
- Finding alternative methods to deliver the best parts of our middle and high school preparation classes rather than teaching separate classes with that content;
- Offering choice-related resources for middle and high schools to all students and one-on-one meetings to those who request it rather than aiming to meet one-on-one with every alumni.
Additionally, a more centralized approach will ensure better alignment with the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund team and will better position us to prepare students for the future.
We are excited about the possibilities this change brings and look forward to working together to support our students and alumni. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
